Master craftsman Bob Fuller is a third generation boatbuilder who founded South Shore Boatworks in 1990. Mr. Fuller served as an apprentice for both his grandfather and father, where learned not only a highly specialized craft, but also the value of tradition, high quality work, and professionalism. Mr. Fuller and his team at South Shore Boatworks specialize in building and restoring Downeast style power boats and rowing dories of wood construction, custom boat building, finishing and restoration work, and handmade wooden ship’s wheels, which Mr. Fuller has been handcrafting since 1977.
Mr. Fuller has built South Shore Boatworks into a trusted and reliable company that has built various marine specialty items for many companies known for the quality of their products, such as: Edson Marine; Cape Dory; Tillotson Pearson; Boston Whaler; Dyer Boats; and Ritchie Compass.
Mr. Fuller is a member of the Massachusetts Marine Trades Association, Massachusetts Bay Marine Artisans, and Cape Cod Marine Trades Association. He is also an Instructor at the WoodenBoat School in Brooklin, Maine, and has hosted interns from IYRS (International Yacht Restoration School) in Newport, RI and The Boat School in Eastport, ME.
